The Reference & User Services Association (RUSA) 2015 Book & Media Awards were announced Sunday February 1 during the American Library Association (ALA) 2015 Midwinter Conference in Chicago, IL.
The Listen List - highlights extraordinary narrators and listening experiences that merit
special attention by a general adult audience and the librarians who
advise them.
Reading List -is an annual best-of list composed of eight different fiction genres for adult readers.
Notable Books List - is an annual best-of list comprised of 26 titles written for adult readers
and published in the United States, including fiction, nonfiction and poetry.
Sophie Brody Medal - is funded by the Brodart Foundation and is given to encourage, recognize
and commend outstanding achievement in Jewish Literature. Works for
adults published in the United States in the preceding year are eligible
for the award.
The Dartmouth Medal - honors the creation of a reference source of outstanding quality and
significance and is given to the best new reference source
published during the previous year.
I had the honor of announcing the winner of the Louis Shores Award which recognizes an individual reviewer, group, editor, review medium or
organization for excellence in reviewing materials for libraries.

I love getting this list. I usually try to read the winners in each category, and so far they've never let me down. I was surprised , however, to find several titles that I hadn't heard of before. This just makes me wonder what else I've been missing...
